## Why this diagnostic

Most B2B brands looking at DTC underestimate the same three things: brand readiness, channel conflict and the operational scaffolding to meet consumer expectations on a B2B cost base. This 8-question diagnostic surfaces the trade-offs without sugar coating.

Built by people who have actually run B2B-to-DTC programmes for distributors, manufacturers and brand owners.

## What it evaluates

- **Brand readiness.** Whether you have a recognisable consumer-facing brand, or a logo on a catalogue.
- **Channel conflict.** How exposed your distributor relationships are to a direct play.
- **Ops scaffolding.** Whether your fulfilment, returns and CX survive consumer expectations.
- **Margin reality.** Whether your DTC unit economics work after CAC, returns and platform fees.

## The 4 readiness levels

Your score (0 to 5) places you in one of four levels, with direct labels:

- **Not Yet.** Hold off. Minimum conditions are not in place. Go back to the four areas and patch the urgent ones before making a move.
- **Getting Closer.** Some pillars ready, others fragile. Run a controlled pilot in a small segment.
- **Almost Ready.** Most pillars work. One or two points to tighten before scaling.
- **Go For It.** You are ready. The conversation shifts from "should we" to "which channel first".

## When this is useful

- You are in the deck-and-debate phase before committing to DTC.
- Your distributors have started asking what you are planning.
- A boardroom request landed and you need a 1-pager fast.
- You launched DTC, it stalled, and you need to figure out which of the four areas broke.

## Common questions

### How long does it take?

Five minutes. Eight questions calibrated for real B2B companies, not academic cases.

### Does it work if I am a manufacturer or distributor?

Yes. Questions distinguish angle and risks based on your position in the chain.

### What if we already do DTC but barely?

Even better. The diagnostic identifies which of the four areas is holding the model back.

### Do I get a PDF?

Yes. With your level, weak areas and prioritised actions.
